Abstract

This paper presents a relative analysis for open source technologies. Open source software is such a remarkable phenomenon that it has attracted researchers globally with some of their striking performance measures at very low cost. With the successful implementations and strong adaptation by users, few open source products like Linux, Mozilla Firefox and most recently Android has created generous interest for open source technologies. Based upon the values of freedom and accessibility open source solutions provide a wide range of functional and practical advantages.
