Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare the blood lactate concentration clearance between winner and loser football players. For the purpose of the study twenty male tribal football players were taken as subjects, ten (10) players from each of the local club team at district level tournament. The subject’s age ranged between 19 to 27 years. For this study portable blood lactate analyzer-Lactate pro-2 was used for data collection. Data were collected post 45 minutes after completion of semifinal match. The hypothesis selected for this study was that there would be no significant difference between winner and loser football players blood lactate clearance rate. For analysis of the data independent‘t’ test was used. The level of significance was set at 0.05. The mean of blood lactate concentration of winner football players was 3.39 ± 0.58mmol/L (mean ± SD) and that of loser football plyers was (4.66 ± 1.23486) mmol/L. The calculated ‘t’ value was -2.944 which showed that significant difference was found between winner and loser football players (calculated‘t’ -2.944 >tabulated‘t’ 2.160).
