Abstract

Municipalities are the sphere of government that is the closest to communities. The third tier of the government is still nascent and trying to make place for itself. For the development at the grass root level in the urban areas, the urban local bodies need finances. Central and State governments are already hard pressed for funds with so many welfare schemes going on and routine expenditures. In such a situation, it becomes inevitable for ULB’s to explore its own sources. Municipal Bonds are one such method. However a ULB needs a good credit rating to do so, for which it needs to build a good public image. Marketing of services provides such a platform to the ULB’s by which they can communicate with people productively. This piece of research work refers to The Study of Marketing Management with reference to Urban Governance- A case Study of Bhopal Municipal Corporation.
