SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES: USES AND GRATIFICATION OF FACEBOOK IN PRESENT SCENARIO

Abstract

Social networking sites, a new phenomenon that attracting million of the peoples to adopt the new technology through web 2.0. Social network enable individual to shape his inner tendencies. Connection with a variety of people may help in formation of new characteristic around people’s social life. The term ' social network' is not new for us. Social networks have been studied from the beginning of the 20th century with the aim to comprehend how the member of certain community interacts and which mechanism can determine the interaction itself (Cecconi, 2007). Social networking sites such as Facebook, Orkut, Twitter, Myspace, Linkedin etc. integrated by people into their daily life. The great strength of social networking is the multiple waysusers have to interact. This study aims to investigateSocial networking provide member with an easy and convenient medium for communicating with family, friends and other. In the past, people have used a combination of face to face human interaction as well as mass media such as television, radio and cinema to fulfill their needs.
