Abstract

The importance of knowledge as an ostensible competitive advantage and the development of information technologies have given rise to Knowledge Management Systems (KMS), facilitating and promoting the processes of generation, coding and knowledge transfer in organizations. The interest of professionals, academics and researchers has been growing for several years, and knowledge management is a growing topic. However, when examining their status in organizations, great difficulties are encountered in their incorporation. Through a review of the bibliography the usual failures produced in the implementation of the KMS are analyzed. The results reflect the reductionist vision that focuses only on information technologies, revealing the need for a holistic vision in order to be successful.
