A STUDY ON EMPLOYEE PERCEPTION OF HEALTH AND SAFETY MEASURES IN AMMAN STEEL INDUSTRIES, TRICHY

Abstract

The research study is an empirical work done to assess the perception of employees about the health and safety initiatives of the organization. The adequacy of health and safety initiatives, the awareness of employees about the safety measures, the awareness and efficacy of workers in sensing and reducing the risk and being able to remain vigilant and alert in their workplace, the training provided to workers by their employer, the extent of concern shown by their employer – have been covered in the study by means of primary data. The study has been done during the period of February to March 2019. Data have been collected through questionnaire, administered to a sample of employees of AMMAN TRY STEEL ROLLING MILLS, Trichy and it has been analysed and the study has found that the health and safety initiatives of the company are satisfactory. Also, the employees have a greater degree of self-efficacy in being safe and fit while working.
