Abstract

The problem of human trafficking has long history. Human trafficking is the III largest criminal activity in the world, The U.S. State Department states that approximately 700,000 people are victims of trafficking annually. It is a form of human slavery which must be addressed at the interagency level. Trafficking is the most inhuman act on the earth. Enormous trafficking takes place not only within the country but also across borders, especially between the neighboring countries. The crime of human trafficking affects virtually every country in the world and has been associated with transnational criminal organizations, small criminal networks and local gangs, violations of labor and immigration codes, and government corruption. This crime robs its victims of their most basic human rights and is occurring in U.S.A, Canada, Australia, England, India and worldwide. Trafficking in persons shall mean the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse, of power, of a position of vulnerability, of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation.
