TRUST IN SUPPLY CHAIN INTEGRATION: A REVIEW

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is twofold: This paper provides a structured literature review of definition development of supply chain. The reviews’ focal point was on definitions of supply management to obtain an accurate view of current research. The review is from international peer-reviewed journals published from 1915 till 2018. Based on the analysis of reviewed papers 9 factors affecting trust in supply chain collaboration have been identified. There has been a noticeable increase in the last quarter of the twentieth century of the importance of trust in partnerships and alliances in management literature. They are 1) Level of Communication, 2) Information Availability, 3) Perceived Satisfaction, 4) Partner’s Reputation, 5) Behavior Uncertainty, 6) Knowledge Sharing, 7) Opportunism, 8) Information Quality and 9) Transparency. These factors have larger impact on trust relationship among partners in the firm. This paper is also representing an integrated conceptual model of factors affecting trust in supply chain partners’ relationships which leads to improving suppliers’ responsiveness towards customers.
