Abstract

An experiment was conducted to ascertain the effect of various biopriming seed treatments in chilli (Capsicum annuum L.). Seeds were treated with various bio-control agents viz., Trichoderma viride (4 g kg-1 seeds), Trichoderma viride (8 g kg-1 seeds) , Pseudomonas fluorescens (4 g kg-1 seeds), Pseudomonas fluorescens (8 g kg-1 seeds), Trichoderma harzianum (4 g kg-1 seeds), Trichoderma harzianum (8 g kg-1 seeds) along with control. Seed biopriming of chilli revealed that bio-priming with Trichoderma viride (8 g kg-1) seeds recorded higher germination per cent of 88.70 and seedling vigour index of 1463 and other quality parameters than rests of the treatments tested, but it is statistically on par with Trichoderma harzianum (4 g kg-1 seeds) seed treatment.
