Abstract

The social sector development is greatly linked with socio Economic development of women. Majority of Tribal Women live in Remote forest areas and hilly regions, without exposure to modernity. A little more than eight percent of populations were returned as Scheduled Tribes in India as per the Census of 2011. Andhra Pradesh is one of the States where the Tribal population is in substantial number and their population in the State works out to 8.6 million. Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh having famous Nallamala Forest area accounts for 82,831 tribal population of which Chenchu population is 9,266.
