Abstract

Exploration on impact of broadcast and digital media on acculturation of selected immigrant professionals in abroad is the present research. The well prepared questionnaire with Likert scales was electronically administered by the researcher to immigrant professionals in the present research not only to assess their attitudinal status towards gaining knowledge through broadcast and digital media but also to assess the effectiveness of usage of these media towards acculturation in professional and cultural contexts. The professional participants opined that gaining knowledge on acculturation through digital media was simple, stimulating and successful. They also opined that gaining knowledge on acculturation through digital media was the suitable, supportive and sustaining process. In the case of assessment of acculturation in professional contexts, it was perceived that the digital media were useful not only in knowing the norms, policies, cultures and professional goals but also in socializing them in professional establishments. As far as the assessment in cultural contexts was concerned, it was perceived that the broadcast media were useful not only in knowing the cultural elements, cultural pattern, cultural values and communicative processes but also in having social interaction.
