Abstract

Stress is particularly a modern problem, but there are tools to fight it in our ageless heritage. Today workplace stress is becoming a major issue and a matter of concern for the employees and the organizations. It has become a part of life for the employees, as life today has become so complex at home as well as outside that it is impossible to avoid stress. Thus, the problem of stress is inevitable and unavoidable in the banking sector. Stress is caused not by external factors alone. It is also because of employees’ attitude. A majority of the employees face severe stress- related problems and a lot of psychological problems. Hence, the management must take several initiatives in helping their employees to overcome its disastrous effect. Stress is not only a concern of the employees; it is also a concern of the organization which employs them. An organization which decides to tackle the problem of work-related stress has to bear in mind that the costs to do so will in the long term still be lower than the costs of employing new workers, paying overtime, etc. Every organization should create a stress management strategy. However the present paper encloses the human stress in the Banking industry.
