Abstract

The cross section is obtained from the rate of occurrence of the outcome of the collision. The electron can remain close to one of the nuclei or it can move far away from both of them. If the electron is trapped by the target nucleus, no ionization or charge exchange event occurs but if the electron is trapped by the projectile nucleus, the charge exchange event occurs. Inelastic collision between electrons and molecules are dominated by channels yielding both electrons and positive ions. We have study of ionization rate coefficients as a function of electron temperature in the units of energy for the individual cations produced in electron collision with the Difluoromethane molecule.
