Abstract

In this study, the optimization and characterization study of friction stir welding to aluminum 1050-H14 has been investigated. Through optical microscopy joint test took placed including micro hardness measurements, and mechanical testing The effects of the tool rotational speed (i.e., 1270 and1650 rev/min) and the welding speed on were obtained at a rotational speed of1600 rev/min with a welding speed of 235 mm/min.In FSW, a cylindrical-shouldered tool, with a profiled threaded or unthreaded probe (nib or pin) is rotated at a constant speed and fed at a constant traverse rate into the joint line between two pieces of sheet or plate material, which are butted together.
