Abstract

Human rights encompasses all aspects of human existence. It is generally accepted that its scope includes political and social rights as well as economic rights. Human rights can be ensured through alleviation of problems rooted in long-standing social and political ills of the country. Concepts of human rights and good governance are mutually reinforcing, both being based on transparency, responsibility, accountability, participation and responsiveness to the needs of the people.
