Abstract

In mobile ad hoc networks( MANETs) the provision of quality of service (QoS) guarantees is much more challenging than in the wireline networks, mainly due to node mobility, multihop communication, contention for channel access and lack of central control and coordination. QoS guarantees are required by most of multimedia and others errors or time sensitive application. From 1990s, it has seen that much researchers interests on providing QoS assurances in ad hoc wireless networks protocols. The infrastructure less and the dynamic nature of these networks demands new set of networking strategies to be implemented in order to provide efficient end-to-end communication or modifications to function efficiently in MANETs.
