Abstract

Conflict is an inevitable aspect in one’s life. We face various forms of psychosocial conflict in our personal and professional life. How well an individual is able to resolve his conflict, affect his/her wellbeing. The aim of the study was to observe the effect of individual’s psychosocial conflict resolution capacity (PSCRC) on psychological wellbeing (PW) and to compare the scores of individuals residing in Delhi and Manipur. These strata were identified for the study as they differ in terms of psychosocial conflicts in the respective states. A stratified random sampling was used to select a total sample of 100 individual (Male 43; Female 57) with equal representation from both strata. The findings of the study revealed that PSCRC is positively related to how an individual rates his/her wellbeing (R = 0.639). On PSCRC and PW, there was a significant difference with t value of 2.676 (p = 0.009) and t value of 2.771 (p = 0.007) respectively, when comparisons were done on individuals residing in Delhi and Manipur. The study also bring to light the fact that more awareness on mental health services should be imparted, and psychological interventions and aid should be easily available to the individuals so as to facilitate them in resolving the various psychosocial conflicts.
