Goods and Service Tax (GST) is a very copious tax structure implemented by Indian Government in the year 2017. This is a very significant and immense step taken by the Government for the development of the nation. GST will definitely integrate the economies of both, i.e. National and State for overall boost of the economy. Before GST, people were paying multiple taxes at the different stages of the movement of goods. But with the implementation of GST, it will be remove the problem of multiple taxation (or double taxation), due to which the prices of the commodities will fall which will be good for the people of the country as well as for the economy. A lot of taxes have subsumed with the introduction of GST and it will improve the tax structure in the country. GST is more business friendly and it will help to control the inflation too. But at the same time, there are many challenges that the Government will face in the coming years. Government will have to take wise decisions to provide full benefit of GST to the people of the nation.
