Abstract

Empowerment is a multi-dimensional process that involves transforming structures of resource and power allocation. The issue of women’s empowerment has progressed in most country around the world. Given the continued resistance to ‘gender issues’ in some part of the development community, this done is an achievement. At the same time, feminists worldwide have made a sustained critique of the dominant approach to women’s empowerment.
