EFFECT OF WEIGHT TRAINING ON STRENGTH CHANGES IN MID LIFE WOMEN.

Abstract

Purpose:The purpose of this study was to determine the muscular strength changes in women who undertook eight weeks of weight training. Methodology:The subjects were Forty women selected at random (n=20) experimental and (n=20) control group between the age group of 40 – 50 years from Trivandrum. Strength was assessed by 1 RM. Muscular strength test was done for biceps curl, shoulder press, chest press, lateral pull down and leg curl. The 1 RM assessment was done before and after eight weeks of resistance training. The experimental group underwent eight weeks of resistance training.
