Abstract

Man is born crude, unrefined and unprocessed. At birth, no man is endowed with moral-oriented education. But at some point or the other all humans hold and express moral attitudes which include moral judgments such as ‘right or wrong’ and ‘blameworthy or praiseworthy’. That is why in a country like India which is a pluralistic and multi-cultural society where many faiths and belief systems regulate the life of an individual Moral education should be given prominence in our educational-system. According to the Constitution of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, ‘That since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defences of peace must be constructed.’ So, it is in the minds of men that moral-oriented education must be constructed as how will a child know about moral-education unless he is not taught and not instilled in his mind about its significance.
