Abstract

An investigation was carried out during 2013 in Kengaki mini watershed of chamarjanagar district ofKarnataka, with the objective to assess the spatial variability and current micro nutritional status of the soils. About 211 surface soil samples were collected at 250 m grid interval and analysed for the micronutrient content using standard procedures. Spatial variability maps were prepared by means of interpolation method of Kriging. Results revealed that among micronutrients higher coefficient of variation was observed in boron followed by copper, zinc, manganese and iron. The coefficient of variation of pH was very low among all properties indicating its less variability compared to other properties. The deficiency of iron was found to be occur in maximum area (76.85 per cent) followed by manganese (16.56 per cent).
