Abstract

As the objective of our study was to compare the overall infrastructure, facilities, equipments, playing surfaces and school programmes in the high schools of Srinagar. After conducting study, it showed that the availability of the ground, which is the basic requirement of any physical activity, is greater in rural areas than urban. At the same time the rural areas are lacking the equipment facilities which are considered as the corner stone’s of games and sports. Though the ground facilities in urban areas are less but the equipment facilities are largely available. The present study shows that private high schools have good sports infrastructural, facilities, playing surfaces, equipment & sports programmes as compared to Govt high schools of Srinagar.
