Abstract

Following the world trend of liberalization and globalization, international interactions and co-operation would increase along with greater competition for resources like qualified manpower. In fact, human resource development would be the new form of capital and source of manpower for the economic development. Along with regional and international cooperation, the competitive advantage of a nation will be determined mainly by the quality of human resources. Quality of human resources is determined by the output of the educational system and the working environment. Providing good working conditions and taking care of welfare of the labor is an important element of the present day corporations. It is believed that improving welfare of the labors results in increase in their productivity. This fact makes to assume that investment on human resource is more economic than investment on machineries. Welfare of the labor is the responsibility of the corporate body, which would increase the contribution of the labor force to the performance of the company.
