ABSTRACT This paper discusses about practices, standards, challenges and opportunities in local e-Governance implementation. Evaluating a case against e-Service success factors, we find several challenges timing, mandate, resource, responsibilities, coordination in departments, dependency on Service providers, and use of standards and guidelines. These are subjects where implementation is open for government at local level, guidance and powers of strong stakeholders, and demand of local citizens. This state is a significance of the fundamental strategic model for the public & government sector. To reduce the level of risk and enhance the chances fruitful implementation is to fill the gap intelligently because E-governance growth in India is always with suspicion and stiff resistance and at the same time it goes along with infrastructure problems. This paper will also discuss the challenges in e-Governance along with the causes of failures in e-governance projects.
