Abstract

Biomedical waste (BMW) poses substantial occupational, environmental, and public health risks when mishandled. Advances in artificial intelligence (AI), machine vision, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and robotic arms have enabled the development of automated systems capable of handling hazardous biomedical waste with minimal human involvement.
