Abstract

Hydrological study of physico-chemical parameters are of utmost importance, as it is having lot of influence on the composition, density and relative abundance of planktonic communities which are finally going to decide the fate of productivity of coastal waters. Air temperature, water temperature, pH, salinity, dissolved oxygen, ammonium-N, nitrite-N, nitrate-N, phosphate-P and silicate-Si were observed and analysed to understand the hydrology of Mangalore coastal waters during the pre-monsoon (Feb. 2013 to May 2013) and post-monsoon (Oct.2013 to Jan.2014)seasons.
