Abstract

The paper reports the effet of eight selected herdicides (2, 4-D, McPA, TCA, Dalapon, Tribunil, NaClO3 NaF and Lasso) on the total chlorophyll and carotenoids content of a vegetable crop Abelmoschus esculentus (Linn.) Moench. Maximum chlorophyll damage (16.03%) was found with McPA (500 ppm) and minimum (3.36%) in Dalapon (500 ppm) treated leaves. A marked damage in carotenoids (58.66%) was found in lasso (500 ppm) treated leaves.
