Abstract

India is a developing country with majority of people living below poverty line, they have acute scarcity of food and housing in addition to it, they are entangled in vicious debt trap, in order to get rid of these problems they need social development with economic implications which could be able to give them economic strength. Social business a model being adhered to in our neighbouring country Bangladesh in the shape of Grameen bank seems to be the solution; this can be the most suitable one in Indian conditions as well. India and Bangladesh both developing countries have most of things in common like majority of people are living below poverty line in rural areas, agriculture being the only source of livelihood for the vast majority.
