Abstract

This paper deals with a system model which consists of a single main unit which is developed by considering failure and repair times as correlated random variables having bivariate exponential distribution. Initially the main unit is operative and its failure leads to two scenarios-one is Normal failure and the other is Accidental failure. Further, Normal failure includes hardware and software failures which can occur within as well as outside the guarantee period but accidental failure can occur at any time.
