Abstract

Lead Telluride is an extremely interesting semiconductor due to its technological in I-R field sensitive devices. Studies on Lead telluride in pellet form is an important and innovative step due to technological advantages of larger area and less dissolution rate over single crystals high quality polycrystalline pellet of lead telluride of thickness 2mm and diameter 12mm are prepared at constant pressure. Their absorption, reflection and transmission measurements were studied using Perkin-Elmer Fourier Transform Spectrophotometer in the wavelength range 2000 – 4000nm. The X-ray diffraction patterns of these pellet were used to determine the sample quality and crystal structure.
