During the COVID- 19 pandemic, social media played a very crucial role in providing education and learning opportunities two students. Many educational intuitions have now included social media in their instructional offerings. The current article examines, the purpose of using social media websites by students and the student’s preference about using social media under public and private universities. Survey method was used for data collection.After analyzing data, it was discovered that, the majority of students prefer to learn from video sharing applications and Google apps for leaning. In addition to that, a significant portion of students prefer to use social media for the purpose of creating and sharing educational content with other students. Finally, in both public and private colleges, there is no substantial difference in the use of social media for educational purposes by male and female students.
