Abstract

The diverse uses of much known nitro substituted Schiff base are delineated in this work. 3-nitro substituted Schiff base has been synthesized and characterized by various spectroscopies. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of this Schiff base are carried out. It showed reactivity against Klebsiellapneumonia whereas the antifungal activity was not observed. The molecular docking study of the Schiff base and other studied drugs against Klebsiellapneumonia has also been carried out and it gives concordant results with the experimental outcomes. Drug-likeness property, ADMET prediction and toxicity of the Schiff base ligands were also studied theoretically. Furthermore, the Schiff base has been applied in copper complex preparation. The as-prepared Cu-complex was characterized by several spectroscopic techniques.
