Abstract

Today children are not only passive observers but they have taken a considerable place in the families and have a significant influence on parental buying decisions. The influence of children on the processes of family purchase decision depends on a number of parameters and situations. Children influence their parent’s decision of buying on various occasions. This influence varies from one product to another. It depends on the education, sex, age allowance to children for purchases and types of product. There might be some other factors like profession, income, whether the parent is single and working, or both parents work and also the family type, types of product (high, low, and child centric product) among others. This particular paper attempts to address the major research question that is, to examine the children’s influence on family purchasing decisions in relation with some factors such as the attitude of respondents is studied separately in terms of education, age, sex, and other demographic factor etc. This research considers the teenagers.
