FINANCIAL DISTRESS PREDICTION IN SELECTED TEXTILE COMPANIES IN INDIA: AN APPLICATION OF ALTMAN Z SCORE MODEL

Textile Industry, by providing the maximum employment opportunities contributes in the gross domestic product and export earnings of country. It has been observed presently that many manufacturing units are facing crises that lead to the generation of unemployment. Due to this, the study specifically aims to find out the probability of financial distress in selected textile companies. Altman Z Score Model is applied in order to have the accuracy in predicting the possibilities of financial distress in textile industry. The data required for the study is collected from secondary sources. The required data and information is collected from annual reports of the selected companies, research papers and books etc.
