Abstract

Adequate feeding and care practices for children are especially early initiation and exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life to ensure the growth and development of a child. This study was carried out on the effect of feeding practices on nutritional status of 6-23 month of children. A community based cross sectional study was conducted on 110 children aged 6-23 months from June-Dec. 2018 at a rural area of Parsa district. Feeding practices were assessed using WHO- IYFP indicators and Chi-square test and other statistical tools were applied to summarize the collected data.
