Abstract

This paper aims at examining the current social security code 2020 with reference to its legal and social implications. As a name suggests Organizing the unorganized, the paper focuses majorly on how this new code for social security will aid the informal labour market of India. Evidence shows that labour laws to formalize the informal sector have worked inadequately. The issues pertaining with the labour laws and their ground level reality can be seen in the second wave of pandemic as well. A critical analysis has been made with reference to informality of labour market and social security. The working of union Government Legislations and different schemes of social security has been studied in depth for this purpose.
