Abstract

The study of Sitnikov problem’s phase space structure is the basic objective of this manuscript with oblate primaries with the presumption that an isosceles triangle is always formed between all the three bodies. Equations of motion, for our problem of Sitnikov problem have been obtained by us in Section 2. In Section 3, Hamiltonian of the system is derived. Section 4 deals with the analysis of motion of the primaries and the third body, qualitatively. In the next section, Section 5, regions of motion are found in the plane of r and r ̇. Lastly, we have observed the resonance between the primary and the third body and have also explained the periodic orbits.
