Abstract

The concept of the periphery stratum was developed by Prandtl in 1904. It provides an important link flanked by ideal melted tide and real-melted tide. Melted having relatively small viscosity, the effect of internal friction in a melted is appreciable only in a narrow region surrounding the melted boundaries. Since the melted at the boundaries has zero velocity, there is a steep velocity gradient from the periphery into the tide.
