Abstract
The existing literature very clearly declare that there is lack of research that observe and scrutinize the pervasiveness of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and that the majority of research is devoted toward big organizations. The time is pertinent to clear air surrounding embracing of CSR policies and practices by SMEs. In this direction the researched surveyed 226 SMEs in Bhosari industrial area (an industrial hub near Pune) to figure out what is stopping SMEs from getting engaged with CSR and to comment on how to remove those hurdles to ensure the adoption of socially responsible works and practices by SMEs.
