Abstract

Entrepreneurial Intention examines a desire of a person to start a new business. If the desire is high then the individual is motivated to go for a new business. The person’s motivation is affected by his demographic factors. This study focuses on the impact of demographic factors such as parental sector (students’ parents’ job sector such as private, public or self-employed) and family income status on the entrepreneurial intention of management students of Nagpur University in Maharashtra state. The survey sample includes 200 students from different reputed management colleges of Nagpur University. Two way ANOVA was conducted to the data. It was found that parental sector and family income status had a positive effect on the entrepreneurial intention. All these findings indicate a much stronger effect of family income status for public parental sector than for self-employed and private parental sector; there's a substantial interaction effect between family income status and parental sector on entrepreneurial intention scores of management students.
