Abstract

Hard turning is gradually becoming a current manufacturing process and with better cutting tool materials, it can be used to polish hard surfaces at a lower cost than grinding. Two important issues in hard turning are the training required and the impact of the process on machine performance. Inadequate selection of process parameters can lead to excessive tool wear and surface roughness. The appropriate parameters must be found to obtain the required dimensional accuracy, large surface area and maximum removal rate.
