To express thoughts and feelings with the help of sound and rhythm is a poem and its speaker or writer is called a poet .In this world many poets are became world famous by their self-composed poems. Kālidāsa is one of them. He was a classical sanskrit poet as well as a dramatist who enlightened the rājasavā of king vikramāditya. He wrote two mahākāvyas Kumārsambhavam and Raghubanśam ,two Khaṇḍakāvya Meghadūtam and Ṛtusaṃhāra and also wrote three plays Avhijñānaśakuntalam, Mālavikāgnimitram and vikramōrvaśīym. For his great work he occupies a unique position in world literature because his creativity was unsurpassed and character portrayal are also rational now a days also. This topic is for discussion about the various social aspects of Indian women’s which can be seen in the writings of kālidāsa
